Guan Yu Soh

I'm a Master's student in Visual Computing at Imperial College London, where I am currently supervised by Professor Abhijeet Ghosh.

I did my summer internship of 2023 at Cloud Imperium Games where I worked on prototyping different glint rendering techniques for spaceships. I did my undergraduate at University of Manchester, where I was advised by Dr. Zahra Montazeri.

Research Interests

My research interests lies in the intersection between Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning, particularly in VR/AR applications. I have and am currently working on realistic appearance modelling, 3D scene synthesis, and human modelling using deep learning. Representative papers are highlighted.

This paper introduced a novel neural framework for modeling the light scattering of a twisted yarn by employing techniques from neural rendering. We demonstrate that our model is able to run up to 23 times faster while using less memory proportional to the number of fibers aggregated when compared to previous fiber-based methods.
